First, IP masquerading is likely to be identified as fraud by the target website or network service provider, resulting in access denial or account ban. Second, IP masquerading is difficult to achieve true anonymity. Even if the IP address is modified, other information in the network data packet (such as MAC address, routing information, etc.) may still reveal the user's true identity. In addition, since IP masquerading requires modifying the underlying network protocol, it usually requires a high technical threshold and a complex configuration process.

Although both IP proxy and IP masquerading can change the user's IP address to a certain extent, there are obvious differences between them.
